The Tourism Board of Ireland can stop wasting their money on groups like the Cranberries enticing me to the Emerald Isle. All it took was one of the Rev. Phelps lovely websites to blow my kilt up! At GodhatesIreland.com he shares his brilliance- apparently he feels that he is being invited to an Irish conference on Gay Adoption in order to be arrested for hate speech. Whatever- my favorite part is his logo- which depicts the Notre Dame leprechaun mounting the Lucky Charms leprechaun!! Priceless- good to see he still has his humor!!

On this day in 1985...
Yikes- Live Aid was 22 years ago?! I was glued to the whole broadcast. We watched it on one of those big old living room tv sets in a pop up camper! My friends father packed that for the kids and for himself- enough Busch beer to outweigh the television hehe!
The day was hot as shit- but as you see in the first clip, Madonna is covered up like its chilly- this was her first live performance after pictures of her were published in Hustler. I remember that when Bette Midler introduced her she said "Here is a woman who picked herself up by her bra straps. And has been known to let them down...occasionally"
David Bowie kicked ass with this one:
Not even Phil Collins on drums could spoil the Led Zeppelin reunion:
U2 established their identity as one of the preeminent live bands:
But the show truly was owned by Queen- hands down the best performance of the day- if not ANY live gig ever:
